Rain’s eyes awkwardly shifted from the mess before her. She had no idea who this high-strung little character was; hell, she was barely aware of her surroundings. One minute she’s pacing through the desert just looking for a place to hide and the next she’s being shipped off to some freak show safe haven. Needless to say, showing herself around was inevitable enough.

Watching him rush back to the scene with a flask of water, Rain cocked a brow as the substance seemed to make the floor beneath them deteriorate right before her eyes.

                                                          (  …n e a t. )

As he splashed it on the floor, however, she took the liberty of nonchalantly waving her hand over the area and creating a larger puddle to rid the area of the toxic liquid, subsequently drying it right up to reveal the damage. No matter how menial, she wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity to show off.

“Your last tube of what?" She had absolutely no idea what he was on about. "My god, all this fuckin’ technology; you’d think these pale faces would at least get you a mop…”

The water was just to dilute the solution, to make it less potent. It wasn’t going to cut it. The more permanent solution to this problem was the powder he made to reverse the effects, it was somewhere on his table. Newt scrambled to his table, searching for it, he remembered it was in a petri dish. There. Between the stacks of paper. He’d poured the counteracting powder over the now dried, still somewhat bubbling, patch of concrete. It only cause the bubbling to intensify, for a while, before it died down. Crisis averted. There wasn’t a thing he could do about the lost concrete though.

He wasn’t too happy about the intruder but what she did perked his interest. It seemed like she absorbed the water, or turned it into water vapour. No matter, what the hell was she doing here? He answered her question slowly, with emphasis on the first two words, ”Concrete Corroder, obviously. I mean it did corrode the concrete, in case you missed it. It doesn’t corrode human flesh or bone though, so it’s safe to handle.“ At least she hadn’t gone for the ‘instantly explodes when in contact with oxygen’ liquid. God knows, if she was lucky her face would have blown off. If not, she would be just be bits and pieces right about now. And then he had to explain what happened in the lab to the Director, and that it wasn’t his fault again, just that people never seemed to get the idea that this is a highly dangerous science lab.

"Nevermind that kid. How did you get here? And didn’t anyone tell you not to touch potentially harmfully substances?” Newt frowned at the stranger, she better explain herself or he was going to have to call the useless security. That was protocol because the last time some random person entered the lab and he’d tried to rid it of said infestation, the stranger had almost blew up the whole building. It wasn’t fault, but then again…
